Curatorial Residency
The Cloud Seven Curatorial Residency offers a unique opportunity for a resident curator to delve into the rich artistic landscape of Brussels and Belgium at large. Central to this experience is the exploration of artworks from both local artists and those within Frédéric de Goldschmidt’s collection. The residency culminates with a curated exhibition with works from the collection and/or artists met during the residency that opens for Art Brussels, the pinnacle moment of the art calendar of Brussels, drawing international audiences and providing an ideal platform for cultivating connections with fellow arts professionals.
Who We Seek
Enthusiastic, forward thinking, and self-driven curators with previous experience with contemporary visual artists in a curatorial capacity. We encourage diverse candidates around the world with varied perspectives and expertise in contemporary art. We encourage candidates who want to discover a particularly vibrant European art scene and explore diverse perspectives on contemporary creation.
Born from the desire to reimagine the collection through fresh points of view, the residency encourages curators to shape their own vision and expand their network. During the residency, we provide comprehensive support to the resident curator. In addition to full access to the collection digital and physical archives and regular conversations with the collector, the resident is able to make connections with key art figures in Belgium, through a bespoke program of studio visits and meetings. The result is a group exhibition throughout the four floors of Cloud Seven 500 sq.m. exhibition space. This exhibition is envisioned to be both innovative and reflective of the resident curator’s unique perspective on the collection and the Belgian art scene.
